mama’s laok
A spinoff personal project inspired by my thesis exploration. Mama’s Laok is a passion project born in the middle of a global pandemic (c. September 2020). Mama’s Laok means mama’s dish. The word mama is commonly known in many languages but it also means grandmother in my mother tongue. In its simplicity, this project is my exploration on how I can combine contemporary photography with traditional ingredients and create a collection of recipes to learn about my family’s history and culture through food. I am currently photographing the dishes and working on layouts for the recipe pages.
